Trial - TeamSpec Skins initally do not have formatting applied to fields

I created a new Skin that has State Reason and Assigned To in a smaller font and different color than Description and Title. When I add work items from the query using this new skin the "labels" are all correct but the fields only show up with the Document font and color until you click on each field with the mouse and then it "converts" to the proper formatting.

Am I making a mistake or is this a bug?

Interesting... I get the opposite behavior.  When I initially create the skin by dragging TFS fields from the canvas into a formatted paragraph, it looks great.  After saving the skin, running a query, and extracting data into the formatted paragraph, that's when I lose the formatting on the extracted content.  This seems to apply particularly to character formatting.  Basic paragraph formatting works OK - bullets, numbering, indenting, tabs, and overall font are all applied to extracted content.  It works best if the paragraph attributes are put into a named style (just my perception - not the result of rigorous examination).

Has anyone gotten formatting to work really well using the trial?  Is the trial "fully functional"?

    Marc,

Thanks for taking a look at this issue.  Can you either send more details about the formatting and specific styles of send a docx file with the source of the skin to teamspec at personifydesign dot com.  I recognize that it might be pretty difficult to reproduce the exact formatting via written description as opposed to having the actual docx file.

The trial is fully functional so if you're seeing something bizzare it's either a bug in our code or a limitation in Word.  One thing I know for sure is that character styles don't really mix well with plain text Word content controls.  This might be what you're running into, but I would love to see the docx file...

    Thanks again for using TeamSpec!

    Regards,

    Juan

    Robert,

Is there any chance you can send us a docx file with the source of the skin you are creating.  Send it to teamspec at personifydesign dot com.  It's pretty difficult to reproduce the exact formatting without seeing the WordML that is in the file.

    Thanks for using TeamSpec!

    Juan

I'm seeing similar issues, by just making a very simple table and making a skin out of it, the formatting is not the same as originally when I render a query with that skin.

See the following simple example, where the top table is mapped using the Canvas, saved as a skin, and then apply to the bottom where I've queried the TFS:

(The same thing happens if I make a skin using a numbered list)

Thanks for providing the image.  I was able to reproduce this problem and have filed a defect.  We'll be fixing this in our next release.
