Sorry for the delay in response to this post. The document will not automatically "refresh" upon opening. There are a variety of reasons for this, but it mostly boils down to the fact that you don't know if what is on the server is what you really want in the document :)
Suppose the following case:
- You create a document on 11-25-2007 and send it to a vendor (or colleague) who does not have TeamSpec.
- This vendor updates the document to have new values for some given number of work items.
- The same work items are changed on the server.
- You get the updated document from your vendor (or colleague). Automatically refreshing the values don't necessarily make sense.
Now, you could make the argument that we can detect when it should be automatically updated and when it shouldn't be, but this takes some of the power out of the end user if they do not want to have the server values.
We do show the out of date work items in the TreeView with a Yellow (or Red) status if they are out of date. This will help you determine which items need syncing and updating.
