Hi,
I seems as though you do not respect the security rules fully when creating a new Work Item.
Example:
You have an Area Path structure like this, "MyTeamProject\MySubPath" and you want to give a group of users access to create work items for this sub area path only. This is easily done in Team Explorer by choosing Team Project Settings->Areas and Iterations then select the area and click Security. Choose the group to grand access and give the rights to manipulate work items for the selected node.
Now if the user creates a new WI from within Team Explorer he/she can do that and the area path is defaulted to the first accessible node and the item saves with out problem.
Now if you take the same scenario using TeamLook, the Create New WI dialog is displayed with all fields grayed out except Area Path. So far so good, then choose the area where you have the appropriate access too and you would expect the remaining fields to be accessible.... But sadly that’s not the case, you can click on the fields and they will be enabled but you can't type in anything least of all save it :(
I hope you can assist us in finding a solution to this problem as we need it to control/limit the areas in which the users can create Work Items.
NB: The version of TeamLook used is 1.6.11.125.
Cheers
Lars
