    Visual Studio 2008

Help!  I have become dependent upon TeamLook, it is an AWSOME product.

Our team has updated to Visual Studio 2008 beta for development.  We still have our 2005 team server, will eventually upgrade that as well.

What hope is there that I will be able to use TeamLook with VS 2008?

    Re: Visual Studio 2008

    Hello Carl,

As VS 2008 approaches, we have been getting this question more often.  There are plans in the works to put out an installer that supports VS2008.

The short answer is yes, TeamLook and TeamSpec should work with VS 2008 as long as you have the correct TFS Client assemblies installed (TFS Client SP1).  Currently, our installer may complain that you don't have VS2005 installed and there is not a good way around this.

If you are seriously interested in getting TeamLook working on the VS 2008 beta, please contact teamlook@personifydesign.com and we will work towards something that can help you.

    Thanks,
    ~Joe

    Re: Visual Studio 2008

I wanted to post an update to this thread as there have been a number of emails requesting how to get this to work...

TeamLook will work with VS2008 as long as you have the TFS 2005 SP1 Client Assemblies installed.  The problem arises when VS2008 is installed with only the TFS 2008 Client Assemblies.  Once installing the 2005 Client assemblies, everything should work fine.

    Thanks,

    Re: Visual Studio 2008

When do you think you will release a version that isn't dependent on the TFS 2005 client assemblies?  I'm really interested in looking into the product but I just uninstalled 2005 and would rather not install it for a trial.

    JBuys,

I tried installing the required bits, but I am notified that a newer version is already installed (I have VS2005 and 2008 installed).  When will you guys have a fix?

We are in the process of moving to TFS 2008 and are looking at purchasing.

    Re: Visual Studio 2008

We are working on support for TeamExplorer 2008.  It should be out within a week or two.  Please check back often and look for our newest release!  There will also be bug fixes and small feature additions to the upcoming release.

    Cheers,
    ~Joe
