Thank you very much for coming to my session on Tuesday. It was very exciting to have a more than filled room with some great questions. I haven’t gotten the final headcount, but my guess is that about 150 people attended. I think it's fair to say that Requirements Management is a topic which is very relevant to TFS and, although there are many approaches at solving the challenges, we still need a more pragmatic and integrated approach. It was great to chat with some of the people who attended and learn more about how their team deals with and manages requirements.
At a very high level, I discussed a perspective of thinking of Work Item Tracking as a way to track DECISIONS in a project. The message was, if you make TFS your centralized store of these decisions you will get the management benefits as well as the integration benefits of TFS and the other related tools. Obviously, TeamLook is one of those tools, but I was able to give a demo of early TeamSpec bits. This brought up a ton of questions and even feature requests. I noted a good number of suggestions and I'll make sure that we include those in our final product.
TechEd has been a fantastic event when it comes to VSTS and ALM. I've had a chance to meet some great community contributors, VSTS related authors, as well as product team members. The best of all is that I had a chance to meet many VSTS customers which asked some pretty deep questions. This is evidence that teams are really using it. Very exciting times to come!
