Post Tech Ed Thank You!!!

Now that we're back and I've managed to dig myself out of post conference email syndrome, I wanted to send a huge thank you to those people who attended the two Personify Design chalk talks and took the time to stop by our booth.  We met, talked with, and learned from an incredible number of people.

Here are some take aways from the conference:

  1. Software teams are starting to find answers for questions that they've had for a long time.  VSTS and TFS (as platforms) are bringing the context, energy, and momentum to be able to have these conversations with a larger groups of people.
  2. A large percentage of people are confused about what software process they should be using.
  3. Unfortunately, a small number of Software Teams and IT teams have an effective communications pipeline such that they can work together in harmony.  This has caused problems with expectations and is resulting in frustrations on both sides.
  4. SOX and other regulatory compliance challenges are causing people to wonder about how they can benefit from automation.
  5. There is a growth buzz in the software/IT industry.

Juan,
It was a pleasure to see you again!  The VSTS book signing event we did was a lot of fun.  I still remember the first time I met you, in the early days of creating the XML scheme that laid the foundation MSD is delivered on today.  Good times!
